It's a basic bar. The burgers and tenderloins are very good.
Horrible atmosphere because of the bar tenders. They don't know how to serve their purpose and keep their noses out of peoples personal lives. Food is good but the people that work there are awful.
If you're not drinking, not from Fairfax, and are 33 but didn't bring your ID because you were drinking water all night and being a designated driver, you are NOT welcome at the Star Bar. They didn't want me in there because I was just drinking water and not making them money. I'm 100% sure that any other businessess with any integrity at all would be ok with that. Their little red-faced doorman (I won't mention names), lost a little weight and is now on a complete power trip and is a bully to anyone not from his town. The most ridiculous thing I've experienced in a long time.
There must have been a change in management - the food left a lot to be desired, coleslaw tasted fishy, bun on my sandwich was crumbly. They took $1.50 off for the slaw, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat a meal there again - quality does not match price. Definitely will stop for an appetizer on the patio this summer, is beautiful back there.
Good food, sometimes the service isn't the best.
